We can either get stuck in the pain of the past or move on to new beginnings. New beginnings do not ignore or erase the past, but they take us beyond its devastating hurt. They lead us out of its destructive bondage. The past is a teacher, but it is not our master. Someone once said, “ You can never run forward looking backwards”.
Each morning God invites us to have a new beginning. “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is his faithfulness.” (Lam. 3:22,23). God’s compassion doesn’t fail, His mercies are new every morning! Why not discover this God of new beginnings in your life today; and let him move you on from the mistakes of your past. Let today be your day of new beginnings.
